Major investment
16 January 2014
AFI has invested a further £2m in new powered access machines for its fleet, as part of an overall investment of £7.5m made during 2013 in machines and delivery vehicles.

The latest expenditure is on 90 Skyjack electric scissor lifts (50 SJ3219s, 30 SJ4632s and 10 SJ3226s) and 15 Genie bi-energy boom lifts (Z4525s), together with 13 new truck mounted platforms for the Wilson Access fleet.
Steve Williams, AFI director, says: "We are seeing that the market is moving further towards electric machines for use in internal maintenance and repair work, particularly in factories and for facilities management operations."
The machines have been distributed among AFI’s UK network of 19 depots, joining a fleet of over 5500 machines.
