Large boiler joins hire fleet

14 March 2017

The launch of a new 1,500kW, lower pressure hot-water boiler by Andrews Sykes brings to the industrial fleet hire market an advanced, fully packaged boiler hire unit that features 3-stage NOx (Nitrous Oxide) burner technology to maximise fuel savings and meet all current EU emission legislation.

Its introduction follows research by Andrews Boiler Hire that shows that in many major projects where large capacities of hot water are required it is often common practice to link a number of boilers. In many such applications, the new higher capacity unit will eliminate this general practice, delivering a speedy and efficient solution.

Available now from the Andrews Boiler Hire for short or long-term projects, the fully containerised 1500kW LPHW boiler is fuelled by gas oil as standard but can also be converted for use on mains gas supply for short or long term solutions. It runs on a 415V power supply and can be supplied with its own ADR-approved 10,333-litre bunded fuel tank ready to be connected for immediate use

Using an internal heat exchanger and pump, the unit supplies stepped temperature control for heating and hot water and is expected to appeal to those operating in diverse business sectors. These include district heating systems, factories, production facilities, sports & leisure centres, retail environments, hospitals and healthcare establishments and many more where hot water is required.

The new high-capacity boiler is held in a secure, vandal-proof steel container, requiring a footprint of just 6 x 2.4m, weighs 8900kg and with a maximum fuel consumption of 172.5l/h it provides up to 1500kW of piping hot water. It has lifting eyes that enable Andrews to quickly transport and off-load easily on site to facilitate a prompt fast installation for a return of heating or hot water or both.

Commenting on this latest addition, Carl Webb, UK sales director at Andrews Sykes, says: “By introducing the 1500kW LPHW boiler – our biggest yet – to the hire fleet, we are able to provide customers with an all-encompassing solution that negates the need for several smaller units.  We recognise the growing demand for fuel economy, and our three-stage burner feature will enable clients to keep running costs at an affordable level whilst still achieving project requirements.”
