Integrated fuse
02 April 2017
MVP12 Metal passive distribution boxes from Murrelektronik are not only made to withstand harsh environments, but also feature an additional protection function built into the module.

The MVP12 Metal passive distributors help reduce the damaging effects short-circuits and overloads can have on an entire system. Each module features integrated fuses at each port that switch off the affected port as soon as it detects an overload. This benefit of integrated diagnostics protects machines and applications from negative effects of overloads. This shut off function also acts as fire prevention because short-circuits can often lead to dangerous fires within machines and applications.
The integrated fuses come standard in every MVP12 Steel passive distribution box from Murrelektronik. With this module, it is possible to monitor current with visual diagnostics and relay status information in the controls cabinet if there is a short-circuit or an overload in the field.
Murrelektronik’s MVP12 Metal module makes it easy to retrofit passive systems with diagnostics functions. Now service electricians can simply look for the red LED on the module to visually assess the status. This improves troubleshooting, reduces cost-intensive error tracking, and helps reduce downtime by protecting the system.
