Lanemark's new premises help with crisis response

02 February 2021

A NEW fabrication facility at Lanemark Combustion Engineering in Nuneaton is helping the company meet challenges posed by the current pandemic.

The company, which manufactures process gas burner systems used in a range of industrial operations – from metal pretreatment to brewing – had brought the new production unit on stream just prior to the impact of COVID-19. The unit is now helping it maintain customer commitments, while also observing the appropriate social distancing advice and instructions.

“There are very clear guidelines and requirements which manufacturing operations need to observe in the current climate and our decision some months ago to expand is now helping us fulfil these needs,” says Alan Thompson, operations director at Lanemark Combustion Engineering.  “We have been able to locate a range of fabrication operations, such as machining and welding, to the new facility which has sufficient space available to enable us to maintain appropriate distances between work stations.”

Lanemark says that while the vast majority of its office and sales staff are now operating remotely from home, it continues to look to address production needs – “Although we are continually mindful of the need to observe any new or enhanced guidance and will, of course, react accordingly,” adds Thompson.

Lanemark’s production and administrative facility has been operational in Nuneaton since 1981, providing specialist process heating systems to industry worldwide.  Apart from sectors such as automotive, engineering and food processing, the organisation also plays a leading role in the provision of heating facilities for large scale petrochemical plants worldwide.

“The new production unit is located approximately 1.5 miles away from our head office and offers some 2,500 square feet of additional space,” continues Thompson.  “This was not only intended to help us meet growing business success in the UK and overseas, but also to release floor space for us to enhance our design and testing facility at the original factory.

“Importantly,” concludes Thompson, “we are delighted that the extended premises are helping us and our customers to maintain manufacturing and processing operations during these challenging times.”  Visit: www.lanemark.com
