WAGNER presents its innovative OxyReduct fire prevention system at the NFPA 2015

27 July 2015

WAGNER Fire Safety presented its fire protection solutions at the NFPA Conference & Expo, one of North America’s most important events in the fire protection industry.

Losses caused by fire in high-density logistics centres not only have massive effects on the availability of goods, but result in the inability to deliver product on time. In addition, these events nearly always lead to severe financial losses as well as consequential damages, which can often even threaten a company’s existence. The OxyReduct fire prevention system is an active – and a preventive – means of technical fire protection that starts working before fire even breaks out.

Nitrogen is fed into the protected area to create a constant fire-retardant atmosphere so that fire can no longer start or spread. The OxyReduct system consists of a number of activated carbon canisters and compressors, constantly generating its required nitrogen onsite directly from the ambient air. This provides pro-active protection from the effects of fire, even for extremely large protected areas.

More than 800 customers worldwide already rely on OxyReduct, many to protect large, automated deep-freeze warehouses. In fact, one of the largest deep-freeze high-bay warehouses in the world today is in the USA and is equipped with this German-made technology. This facility is operated by Preferred Freezer Services and has a storage volume of more than 37 million ft3.
